Linking Bedrock ↔ Java accounts

Valatic allows Bedrock and Java players to connect using GeyserMC and Floodgate. Account linking is NOT handled by Valatic staff or Valatic systems - it is a third-party process managed entirely by Geyser/Floodgate.

By linking your accounts, you connect your Bedrock account to a Java account, allowing you to play on Valatic from either platform using one primary profile.

⚠️ Important: Account linking is done AT YOUR OWN RISK. Please read carefully before proceeding.

Who Controls Account Linking?

• ✅ Account linking is provided by Geyser/Floodgate

• ❌ Valatic staff do not control, override, or reverse the linking process

• ❌ Valatic staff cannot restore lost inventories or data

⚠️ Critical Bedrock Data Warning

When you link accounts through Geyser/Floodgate:

• Your Java account becomes the active profile

• Your Bedrock data is replaced by Java data while linked

Is Bedrock data permanently lost?

• ✅ If you unlink before continuing gameplay, your Bedrock data can return

• ❌ If you continue playing, overwrite data, or make changes, recovery may no longer be possible

Because of this risk, Valatic treats Bedrock data as effectively lost once linking is completed and gameplay continues.

This behavior is by design of Geyser/Floodgate and not a Valatic bug.

What You MUST Do Before Linking

Before linking your accounts, log in on Bedrock and complete ALL of the following.

1. Empty Your Bedrock Inventory

• Place all items into chests

• Clear your ender chest

2. Transfer Claim Ownership

If you own claims on Bedrock:

• Transfer ownership to your Java account

• Or remove the claim entirely

⚠️ Claims not transferred may become inaccessible or get deleted which may leave your items unprotected.

3. Secure Important Items

To keep items accessible after linking:

• Store them in shared chests that your Java account can access

• Transfer items to your Java account

4. Record Homes & Locations

• Bedrock homes do not transfer

• You will need to re-set homes after linking

If You Forgot to Do This First

If you linked before transferring items or claims:

✅ You may unlink your account using Geyser/Floodgate ✅ Log back in on Bedrock ✅ Transfer items and claim ownership properly ✅ Then link again

⚠️ Do NOT continue gameplay while linked if you intend to recover Bedrock data. Once gameplay continues or data is overwritten, recovery may no longer be possible.

Valatic staff do not perform unlinking and cannot recover data.
