Welcome to Valatic EarthSMP

This is the server that started it all here at Valatic. We have a 1:1 scale custom map of the Earth on survival mode that is packed with extras and an amazing community.

EarthSMP Specific Rules

In order to assure a safe and friendly community scamming, griefing, stealing, and cheating is not allowed on our server unless the specified game mode allows it.

EXAMPLES OF WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED

  • Faking authentic items to make them look real but are really knock offs.

  • Griefing players by destroying their builds or lava-casting.

  • Killing players who have PvP toggled off.

  • Claiming land within close proximity of someone else's claimed area with an intent to claim block or grief.

  • Setting homes or warps within another players build or claim.

  • Stealing in-game currency or items from other players bases in game modes where is it not specifically allowed.

  • Building or creating anything that is inappropriate.

  • No TP trapping or Player Warp Trapping

Getting started on EarthSMP

When you spawn in for the first time you will see EarthSMP in the distance and have a choice of where you would like to go first. Just talk to the astronaut and you will be sent to EarthSMP. You can always go straight to /spawn where you will see our new layout this season. In spawn will be where you will be able to access our server shops, auction house, and the pinata party.

Valatic EarthSMP Map

We have a live map of EarthSMP that you can use to figure out where you are or where you would like to go!

  • Just use /map in game and click on the link in the chat.

  • Use !map in chat on discord to get the link

Video on using the Map

There are several maps on our site. You can switch to them by clicking on the map in the menue on the right side of your screen. You can also click on player names to see where they are on the map.

Spawn and our Community

Spawn is designed for players to have a neutral area to interact and to gather when they are not exploring, mining, or building. We have our Marketplace with the shop NPC's and our Auction House as well. We have a Bank for those that forget they have player vaults with their ranks. Our pinata party is always a hit and sometimes you can see a few running around with players in hot pursuit. As the season progresses we will be adding more to spawn.

Spawn and Warps

Spawn is where you start when you first join Valatic EarthSMP. Spawn is where you return to for our crates. You return here when you respawn. We have multiple NPC's that have our current kits, ranks, and economy resources.

Our /warp menu has our world options for you to go to one of our multiple worlds and explore, gather resources, or build little secret areas.

All about Claims

Claiming land in Earth SMP requires claim blocks. You can obtain claim blocks through playtime or winning them from our crates. However, you will not be able to gain claim blocks while being AFK.

Why make a claim?

Claims are used to keep your builds or stored items safe when you log offline. They create protected areas where griefers, thieves, or trolls can't destroy your builds or take your items. Claims expire after you have been offline for 30 days.

How to claim

First you need claim blocks. Minimum Claim size is 100 blocks. This is a 10 x 10 area but can be any area that is at least 5 block wide and is at least 100 blocks total. Once created you can add to your claim as long as you claim blocks to do so. Just right click one corner and move the new corner to where you want it, then right click the ground again to set your changes.

3 ways to create a claim

  • Placing a chest down for the first time will create a 10 x 10 claim centered on the chest.

  • Using a golden shovel to right click a block and then click another block 10 blocks diagonally away from your first block will create a 10 x 10 claim.

  • Using the /claim command will create a 10 x 10 claim centered on where you are standing.

Basic Claims and Subdivided Claims

Basic Claims

Basic claims are the claims you normally make when you create a claim. They are outlined in with gold blocks and have glow stone in the corners. You can make as large of a claim, or as many claims that you want to, as long as you have enough claim blocks.

Subdivide Claims

Subdivided claims are areas inside of a larger basic claim that allow for their own unique permissions. They are outlined by white wool and have iron blocks in the corner. They do not use any additional claim blocks to create.

How to use

To switch between basic claims or subdivide claims you use /subdivideclaims while holding your golden shovel. Then you can create claims inside the larger claim. To switch back to basic claim mode use /basicclaims while holding the golden shovel.

How to set permissions in /basicclaims mode

Stand in any claim you wish to add or remove permissions for and use the appropriate command.

How to set permissions in /subdividedclaims mode

To set permissions, all you do is stand in the subdivided claims area which is marked with iron blocks at the corners, and set trust level as you would normally in a basic claim.

Subdivided claims can inherit the same permissions for the basic claim or inherit no permissions. This is set by using /restrictsubclaim while standing in the subdivided claim.

Permissions

Permissions for claims are simple. What do you want to allow someone to do on your claim?

  • /accesstrust (player name) - Allows player to open doors, buttons, levers, and trapdoors.

  • /containertrust (player name) - Allows player to open chests, shulker boxes, animal inventory, droppers, dispensers, smelters, blast furnaces, smokers, and barrels

  • /trust (player name) - allows player to place and break blocks as well as container and access permissions

  • /permissiontrust (player name) - Allows player to give upto their trust level to another player.

  • /untrust (player name) - Removes trust from player in claim you are standing in or in all claims if standing outside of a claim.

All of these trust levels work in a subdivided claim as well. If you do not want the subdivided claim to have the same permissions that the larger basic claim has, use /restrictsubclaim while standing in the subdivided and that subdivided claim will not receive the permissions of the basic claim and can be assigned its own permissions.

If you want to remove or ban a player from your claim there are two ways to do this:

  • /bfc (player name) - bans player from your claim.

  • /bfca - toggles on/off and bans all players from your claim

  • /kfc (player name) - kick player from your claim

  • /ubfc (player name) - un bans player from your claim

How to Claim Land Video

Below is a quick link to a YouTube video on making claims and managing your claims.

What not to do

Claims are enabled for players to protect your items and builds. That being said, please do not use claims to harass, be toxic, claim block, or in any other way that violates Valatic's Rules.

Economy

How to make money?

There are various ways to make in-game money on our SMP server. Here are a few key factors:

  • Mining - Rare ores such as diamonds, gold, and more can sell for a lot of money. Making it number one on this list. You can sell your minerals on /shop or to other players through chest shops or the auction house.

  • Farming - Farming is another great way to get money on the SMP. You can create various farms such as cactus, sugarcane, and many other crop farms. Once you have crops to sell, you can sell them to server shop in Marketplace or using Seller Minions.

  • Jobs - Utilize the command /jobs to open the jobs GUI and select a job to complete. After completed the selected one, you will earn money and points. Points can be spent on the points shop section of the GUI. Jobs are Disabled due to bugs.

  • And more - While mining and farming are big factors in the economy, just about everything else can be too such as mob hunting, blocks, craftable items you can't buy in the shop. You can also create areas and co-operate with other players to make shopping malls or market places.

Marketplace

Our Marketplace is a plots world where our Shop NPCs are located and where players can set up their own Chest Shops.

  • Buy or Sell to Marketplace NPCs by interacting with them in Marketplace

  • /qs create (amount) - while holding an item you wish to sell and while looking at a chest to create a chest shop. Chest shops are only available in /warp marketplace

Useful Commands for Marketplace:

  • /plot auto - automatically claim an available plot nearby.

  • /plot claim - claim the plot you're currently standing in.

  • /plot <PlotID> merge - merge the plot you're standing in with another one. You can merge up to 4 plots.

  • /plot unlink - unmerge the plots you're currently standing in.

  • /plot <PlotID1> move <PlotID2> - move your plot (PlotID1) to another unclaimed plot (PlotID2). Example: you want to move your plot 0;0 to unclaimed plot 0;1 you would type /plot 0;0 move 0;1

  • /plot add <player> - allow a player to build in your plot while you are online.

  • /plot trust <player> - allow a player to build on your plot even if you are offline.

Auction House and Player to Player Sales

There are multiple ways to sell items you have mined, crafted, or found on EarthSMP. Auction house commands work only while you are in spawn.

  • /ah sell (amount) - while holding an item to list it for the set amount on the auction house while in spawn

  • /pay (player name) (amount) - to pay another player the set amount.

How do I buy items?

You buy items by using the /ah command or by visiting the NPC's in spawn. Using NPCs or visiting Player Chest Shops in our Marketplace.

Spawners

We have a unique system for Spawners on Valatic. You can obtain spawners only from our crates. Every key from common crate keys to monthly crate keys has a chance to give you some spawners. Spawners will automatically be added to your /spawner gui. In your /spawner gui you can have your spawners auto sell or build up resources that you can extract for use later. Collecting drops/experience is not compatible with our bedrock players at this time.

Spawner GUI Video

Vehicles

With a little luck you can win a vehicle from our crates. We have Tractors, Planes, and Submarines for players to acquire and explore the map with. Vehicles look like renamed chests while in your inventory but when placed take their shape.

Bedrock Players are not able to use vehicles due to compatibility issues with the Server Resource Pack. We are sorry about this issue and constantly work to improve compatibility.

Basic Use and Controls

  • By placing a vehicle, on land for Plane and Tractor or in water for the Submarine, players can use Right Click to enter the vehicle.

  • Using Left Shift will allow players to exit the vehicle.

  • Crouch Left Click will let players open the vehicles fuel tank where lava buckets, coal, or wood can be used to fuel the vehicle.

  • Using Crouch Right Click lets you pick your Vehicle up into a free spot in your inventory.

Vehicle Types and How to use

  • Planes

    • Planes allow players to fly and explore. They do require room to take off and have simple controls to use.

    • To use

      • Place plane on a level area.

      • Right click to enter vehicle. Third Person View is a great way to navigate but use what feels good for you.

      • Use forward button to build up speed and look up with Mouse to take off.

      • You need to keep pressing the Forward Movement Key to keep airspeed up or you will lose altitude and crash land.

      • Use Mouse to look up or down to change altitude and using Left or Right Directional Keys will steer the plane left or right.

      • Landing is as simple as slowing down while looking down to a level area to land on.

    • CAUTION : While flying, if players exit the plane players will take fall damage and possibly die over land. If this happens, take note of the coordinates as players will need to travel back to get the plane. The plane will fall down almost instantly and will be near where the player died.

    • CAUTION: If players fly a plane into the World Border, they will be removed from the plane, and it will land outside of the border and be unretrievable.

  • Submarines

    • Submarines allow players to explore underwater and not have to worry about air running out

    • To use

      • Place the submarine in water as it is placed like a boat would be.

      • Right Click to enter the submarine. Third Person View is a great way to navigate but use what feels good for you.

      • Use Directional Keys to navigate forward or left and right.

      • Use the Spacebar to change the depth. While Holding the Spacebar the submarine will go up in the water but will sink once the Spacebar is released.

  • Tractors

    • Tractors allow players to farm larger areas quicker by harvesting and replanting at the same time. Tractors will not till land but will automatically plant seed when going over tilled land.

    • To use

      • Place the tractor on level ground.

      • Right Click to enter the tractor. First or Third Person View is a great way to navigate but use what feels good for you.

      • Use Directional Keys and Mouse to steer tractor.

      • Tractor will Harvest/plant three rows at a time.

Envoy

We have the new Envoy Event that runs throughout the day. Announcements in chat will let you know when an event will occur starting at 30min before the event. To get to the Envoy Event, use /warp envoy.

CAUTION : There is a combat timer in PVP. If you want to logout, change servers, or go to an event players will need to wait for the combat timer to expire or be considered as Combat Logging and players will lose their inventories.

The Envoy Event area is PVP and Keep inventory is off. So be mindful of what items you take with you as you could lose them! During the Envoy event, you and other players will be going after the chests that spawn in. There is a chance for food, blocks, armor, or tools based on the quality of the chest that spawns. Basic Chests up to Titan Chests. Good Luck!

Season Information

Each season brings a fresh start for all players and allows Valatic to balance features and try new things. We get to take some of our community members suggestions and make Valatic Servers that much better.

Why New Seasons Happen

The Purge

As each season ends, we sometimes have a Purge Event. This Purge Event is a fun event Valatic sometimes hosts during our end of seasons. This so called "purge" event, is as follows: PvP will be turned ON, keep inventory will be turned OFF, griefing, stealing, trolling, will be authorized. Claims will be disabled. Keep in mind, this Purge Event is not an excuse to hack or cheat. All chat rules are still in effect.

Go to

We offer various prizes in our store packages such as crates, loot boxes where you can win in-game money as one of the prizes. This is a great way to get money. You can find our store by going to

Purchase plots on our Store and setup shop -

On the first Sunday of every month we give out $15 gift cards to the top player in each leaderboard category. Winners are announced on the in the Announcements Channel. Once announced, players have 24 hours to claim their prize. This contest is only on our EarthSMP server and does not include the PVP category.

Winners will need to make a Billing Ticket in the . Players will have 24hrs to open a ticket and claim their winnings.

The reason resets are crucial to any functioning Minecraft server is because player data files get very large. Server world files get very large, and lag builds up over time. As files get built up over time this causes crashes, plugins to break, disks becoming full. This can lead to many bad consequences. Please Read for more information.
